Ardo is now the sole shareholder in Spanish vegetable group Ultracongelados de la Ribera (UCR), which had previously been a joint venture between the company and Bonduelle.
According to RevistaAral.com, the agreement reached between the two parties included Ardo completely integrating a production plant in Benimodo, Spain, into its supply chain.
Both Ardo and Bonduelle say that this is best alternative for the plant, which now will be able to fully develop its potential. It currently provides jobs for 240 skilled workers and is one of the most technologically advanced production facilities in the Iberian Peninsula.
The operation will honour existing agreements, and the plant will continue to supply Bonduelle's businesses for the next five years, but now it will also be able to access new production lines thanks to the integratio
Currently, UCR's Benimodo plant produces approximately 30,000 tons of frozen vegetables, including ready meals, which represent yearly sales of over €35 million.
